Best Skin Care for the Little Ones

Taking care of Mother Nature or your puppy is like taking care of your baby, delicate and so thus each need subtle and gentle mother’s touch.

The baby’s skin is tremendously delicate and sensitive compared to an adult. Thus, the way we take care of our body and skin is distinctively different from the little ones. It is not simply as cleansing their skin without being critical. The baby’s skin is extremely irritant and prone to allergy.

Basic tips for baby skin care:

1.     For cleansing the baby, use lukewarm water and mild bath soap. Use a glycerine-based soap if your baby’s skin is dry.

Remember to be subtle and be gentle in rubbing the baby’s skin. Soothing bathing sponge can be used, ensure its cleanliness.

2.     The baby’s hair should be washed often and regularly. Heat from the body is released in the head top. Be cautious of selecting a baby shampoo.

3.     Do the moisturizing afterwards. Use a soft towel and gently use a tapping motion to dry the baby’s body. Apply a non-irritant moisturizer on his moist skin. Unlike adults, babies do not need a massage yet. Do the application in a single direction.

4.     In changing diapers, you must the tap baby's bottoms with a soft towel to dry the wet area. Use fragrance free baby wipes. Powder application is advisable, but then again be keen in choosing baby powder.

Put on baby powder to underarm, neck and genital areas. Just make sure that powder bits will not be able to enter his nose through the lungs. Zinc oxide-based diaper rash creams are advised. This is one way to prevent and avoid skin rashes.

5.     Use mosquito nets to keep the baby away from insect bites. Never use mosquito repellents.

6.     Lastly, always take the baby on to a regular check up. Keep up with the doctor’s advice if skin problems occur.

The two significant things in skin care in baby basics are cleansing and moisturizing. A mild bath soap and moisturizer would do.

It is important to be conscious and be keen with baby product labels. Though skin-care products in store are designed and formulated to be mild and soothing, precautions must be observed. Each baby’s skin is unique and skin products may have adverse effect on their baby’s skin.

The use of high quality baby skin products is recommended. Beware of the copy-cat ones. Do not just settle for fragrance or those that come in colourful and presentable packages. Use fragrance and colorants free products as much as possible.

Check the product’s ingredients, natural ingredients are highly preferred. Some products may be too harsh for the baby’s sensitive skin. We assume that manufacturers have been critical in their ingredient choice.

However, such assumption is inaccurate. It is best to always be alert in the protection of your baby’s skin. Natural way is often best. The more intricate the product ingredient is the more likely and expected an allergic reaction may occur. Simpler formulations are usually works best to sensitive skins.

It is important to take really good care of your baby’s skin and teach them to take care of themselves while they are still young.

Grow them well, clean and healthy. As these things people used to say, as cleanliness is next to Godliness and health is wealth.
